Of Interest
In an interesting case recently, plaintiffs claimed a loss of economic benefits resulting from certain provisions of a settlement agreement that they were contesting. One aspect of our analysis concerned the additional time spent in searching for an acceptable time-share exchange. It was alleged that exchange members seeking to exchange vacation time had to spend significant periods of time, during repeated sessions, at their computers in order to check the availability of properties and times. We valued this loss at the effective average wage rate that a person earns at his or her job.
